Product Description
Tired of having to wait months for games to get released in the UK? Angry that some games don't get released here at all? Datel's FreeLoader could be your gateway to import heaven. It looks like an ordinary GameCube disc but once you stick it in your machine you'll instantly be able to play any game from any country in the world. It allows you to play US and Japanese games on your UK GameCube without having to get your console "chipped" or make any physical changes to it whatsoever. You just pop the FreeLoader disc in, then replace it with the game you want to play at the prompt and you're away. What's more, if you were impatient enough to buy a US or Japanese GameCube then the FreeLoader will now enable you to play UK published games on your machine as well. Sounds too good to be true? Well, there are a couple of catches, but they're only minor. Although all current games work with the disc there's the possibility that future ones won't. However, as long as you keep an eye on Datel's Web site you can find out about new versions of the disc to make sure you're as up-to-date as possible. Also, you'll need to use separate memory cards for Japanese and UK/US game data (see the product description below for more information). Oh, and you'll need at least a moderately new telly that can handle 60Hz and NTSC signals, but that really is it. Get FreeLoader and embrace the world of international gaming. --David JenkinsFreeLoader uses proprietary technology to enable your GameCube to play import games from any other region. Using FreeLoader, you can play imported games on your local console, without modifying your Cube.

Works well with WII but not the latest firmware update, 19 Aug 2007
Works well until you upgrade the WII to the latest version of the firmware (version 3.0) when this version of freeloader will not work. BE WARNED
Apart from this, I have had NO problems with this on my WII running an NTSC version of Animal Crossing, it was worked 100% of the time.
WARNING - Wii Owners, 16 Aug 2007
At present, due to a Nintendo firmware update, the freeloader will NOT work on the Wii.
Useless piece of junk, 14 Jun 2007
I bought this off Amazon in the hope of converting U.S games to play on my PAL Wii, but noooo, the freeloader turns out to be completely useless in converting the games. After around 5 minutes max of play the game completely crashes and you are told to turn the power off and refer to the Nintendo Gamecube instruction booklet. I did so, but their useless solutions completely failed. I'm fed up with Nintendo for this POINTLESS regionality, and I'm fed up with Datel for making a product which as far as I'm concerned, is a useless piece of junk. AVOID!!!
New version is indispensable., 22 May 2007
If you have up-graded from a Gamecube to a Wii and happen to have a stack of imported (NTSC) Gamecube titles then you might have found the old Freeloader doesn't work. But fear not as this up-dated version does exactly the same for your Wii. It doesn't however enable the Wii to play imported Wii games from the other regions so buyers be aware of that.
But apart from that no import gamer should be without this piece of kit. Far more convenient than keeping your old Gamecube on the go.
Freeloader (Gamecube), 10 Nov 2005
DONT BUY THIS, for £2 cheaper, you can buy the Action Replay cheat disk, which comes with a freeloader, cheats for 3 different regions (Euro, USA and Japan) and it comes with a FREE 59 block memory card!! AMAZING!!

STOP - don't even think about buying it. , 16 Aug 2008
I have bought one yesterday, received today, was excited but a big dissapointment. The stand for the wheel so wobbly that you can;t even handle the wheel properly to finish a race. Don't even think about it. It is made of a very bad plastic and seems week so I immediately stopped playing to avoid braking so I can get my refund. I returned it today. Back to my desk.
Flawed but well worth the money!, 25 Apr 2008
This is a great product for the price. Sure, it is not as sturdy as a gaming seat. But a gaming seat will cost you anywhere from £150 to £300, so is that a surprise? It will also take up a sizable amount of space, whereas this will tuck away into any wardrobe, or even behind the sofa. There is a certain amount of movement (wobbling) when you are steering, but I did not find it ruined the experience. It was certainly better than balancing the wheel on your lap.
My only criticism is that the part you sit on should have been padded in some way. It is made of very hard plastic, and the underside is not even smooth. Hence, if you use it on a leather sofa, you run the risk of marking the seat, and prolonged use gets quite uncomfortable. I reduced the problem by folding a thick blanket over and under the end of it, making it more comfortable and protecting my sofa at the same time.
But for the money, an excellent addition to the driving experience. I use mine with a Logitech Driving Force Pro Steering Wheel.

utter crap, binned mine almost straight away.ITS NOT STURDY ENOUGH FOR THE M$ 360 WIRELESS WHEEL.
Don't use with official wheel!, 11 Oct 2007
If you have the official wireless wheel, don't bother with this. You can adjust the height, but that doesn't matter, as it's always too high. No matter what position you choose, it's also too close to the body. The final problem is that it's really wobbly, so when you turn left the entire stand moves left & when you turn right it leans right. I threw mine away after the 2 days. Not recommended.
Just what I needed, 08 Oct 2007
At last, I have something cool to mount my Logitech wheel on, it fits perfectly. I Play my 360 in my bed room so this is perfect for using on my bed, now I'm looking forward to PGR4 even more!
Not what I expected, but overall ideal for me with little space, 12 Jul 2007
Managed to get hold of this from another supplier, it's not what I expected, I was expecting the box section to be metal, the platform the wheel attaches to to be a reinforced composite plastic and the end that you sit on be a comfy padded material.
It is however all reinforced composite plastic, fortunately for me I was always going to put the end you sit on under a cushion, actually a futon cushion !
Once the wheel is attached it can give some lateral motion (left / right) understandable I suppose due to the amount of weight it's now carrying, this isn't really noticeable as long as you don't fight with the wheel whilst driving.
With all that said, it's a damn site better than what I had to mount the wheel on anyway which was nothing, it is incredibly practical on space, the pedals are easier to use now it's off my lap and all I need now is a lot of practise with the wheel, 4 stars overall purely because my expectations levels weren't met, but for the price, I'm not really complaining !

What else can I say? If you want to access the Gamecube's (currently limited) selection of online games, you'll need this adapter to do so. Its very disreet and fits under the machine in one of the empty bays. The telephone line will fit into the socket revealed at the side. The modem seems to make no noise what-so-ever, even when dialling up, which is nice to see, and although there may be some issues wih what ISPs you can use for connecting to Phantasy Star Online, this is down to their servers and the method of connection rather than th modem itself. The hardware is perfectly fine. Suprisingly good performance for a 56k- thats Ninty quality, 27 Mar 2003
Like most people, I do not have Broadband internet access at home yet so my only method of playing Phantasy Star Online is through this and my second phone line. However, the game plays fine with very little evidence of lag with my ISP, and most people I've met online have 56ks anyway. Word of warning though, before buying, contact your ISP about using playing online through your Gamecube because some 'don't except third party software'. Luckily, I changed ISP to one that accepts online gaming and the sign up process on PSO was quick and easy. So, if you're playing PSO and aren't intending on getting Broadband in the near future then this is a solid, reliable option and really an essential purchase.
A New Meaning To Online Gaming, 19 Mar 2003
This is purely a must-have for anyone who knows hte excitment of online gaming and wants to bring it to their console. For anyone who has attempted it, using a standard PC and a 56Kb line to play games online is woefuly slow and incredibly laggy giving you a majour disadvantage to people on broadband. The gamecube is different being a dedicated gaming machine playing games on a normal phoneline is just as good as using a broadband line. A gaming experience which should not be tured down currently the only online supported game PSO is amazing and I am sure there will be more even bigger and even better titles to follow
Modem adaptor, 17 Mar 2003
This adaptor is good, although the broadband adaptor is much better, plus its the same price. It does the same thing as the broadband adaptor only not as quickly, but the broadband adaptor needs broadband connection equipment such as a DSL modem, so if you dont already have this you will have to buy it.

A good concept but poorly executed
The support arm that holds your steering wheel is too flimsy. When turning your steering wheels, the whole thing flexes so it's not too stable. When I turned force feedback on the condition multiplied.
I also find that to have steering wheel at a comfortable height, it's too clost to the body, if I move it away from my body, the steeringwheel is too high (poor design)
rubbish product, 29 Sep 2007
finally recieved this around the 15/10/07 after ordering it on th 29/6/07 and i would have to agree with saeed, very flimsy build quality. i would have been better off getting a tv tray table, would have arrived sooner too.

Dont waste your dosh., 15 Oct 2007
utter crap, binned mine almost straight away.ITS NOT STURDY ENOUGH FOR THE M$ 360 WIRELESS WHEEL.
With all that said, it's a damn site better than what I had to mount the wheel on anyway which was nothing, it is incredibly practical on space, the pedals are easier to use now it's off my lap and all I need now is a lot of practise with the wheel, 4 stars overall purely because my expectations levels weren't met, but for the price, I'm not really complaining ! coooooooool, 15 Aug 2003

Frank, 12 Oct 2007
Quite terrible really, 07 Jan 2005
Sometimes this cable is advertised as being true RGB and sometimes it's advertised as having seperate audio outputs. Neither of these are true. It's composite sync based and the image it gives is far too bright, saturated, and is less crisp than the regular composite sync cable that comes with the Gamecube.
Excellent!, 02 Jul 2004
This is the best scart lead you can buy! The picture displayed is excellent! It's bright and clear & it supports 60Hmz mode. I don't know whether it's just my television, but the official Nintendo RGB scart lead made the picture far too dark! The Blaze scart lead also has the extra bonus that you can hook it up to your surround sound speakers.
